Dad and me, Red Sox Day

Here Dad and Taryn spending their Red Sox day together. They had a very nice day. Taryn has made a new pink friend!! Okay now, it's my turn to spend the day with Dad. But I guess I will have to wait it out!!!

College Bond!!

Well here we were, all packed and ready to go by 6 am, yes in the morning and got to UCONN by 7:25 am. Could you tell someone wanted to get there very early in the morning. Bless his little heart!! He packed most of his gear!!
Here he is after we went to the Co-Op for some of his books-he was looking at the map to find the right short cut to get back to his dorm. He found it. Such a Boy Scout!!!

Here's his room on the 9th floor, Elsworths I believe its called. He is right across the Men's bathroom. By 10 am still no roommate and Tyler was wanting us to go but Dad and I wanted to meet his roommate. About 45 minutes or so later, he came. It's really freaky, they both look so simular to each other; short haircut, about same height and wear glasses. So when things got rolling between the two, Tyler was booted us out to go. Never did get that mother chance to cry. Just as well. Tim and I went to the Student Union, had lunch and off we went home.
Tyler has been home once since school started and has jumped right in to stay active and meeting new people. Seems to love the Outdoor Program-rock climbing and is doing an online newsletter. He did check into faternities but it was not his thing. Just as well, thank goodness. He has done his own laundry twice, had to call once on "How to.." questions. Emailed us a list of things he needs especially band-aids for his fingers-getting cuts from rock climbing plus heathy snack stuff. Planning to see him this Saturday late afternoon with the girls-we'll have dinner and go for some ice cream-Yum O!! Plus he'll get a care package from us too.

It sure does feel very empty and I know the girls do miss him. But I sure don't miss the extra loads of wash!!!!! And I mean extras!!! LOL I do believe our food bill has gone down. Plus not finding bowls and glasses by his computer where he would snack. Or in the play room however, the girls seem to follow in their brother's foot steps in leaving a dish or two in the playroom.

He seems very happy. Loves his Arabic language class but not so much his math-I believe it's a language barrier with the teacher, hard to understand him.
